The car has now completed 6 dynamic runs. The team has
been able to practice starting the car against the clock,
turning the car around and refueling. However, due to the
cold conditions, it was decided that this was as far as winter
testing would go.

Cody Flyer Project
The replica
of British Army Aeroplane No 1A was finally completed in
time for the centenary celebrations that took place on the
16th October 2008 to commemorate Cody’s achievement
of the first recognised powered flight in the UK, exactly 100
years on. The replica, in its brand new dedicated pavilion,
is located at the FAST museum site at Farnborough only a
few hundred metres from where the actual flight took place!

Motorcycle LSR bids
With Rocky and Mike setting the new records standard of 360 mph, the world of outright streamlined motorcycles is now almost awash with projects in many countries across the world. With a target of 500 mph the J -85 jet powered bike of Mike Charlton (FF69) has now got its metal wheels ready. Mike aims to be on the salt this coming September under FIM rules, whilst those teams that are ‘limited’ by having to drive a rear wheel are now waiting for a suitable rubber tyre. On the internet forums it appears that Denis Manning (BUB 7) may have secured suitable tyres in 2009 to go up to 400 + mph average speed. All of the other teams may have to make do with one tyre per pass for even a small improvement on the existing record in safety.
